Yr Argyfwng Hir

Erthygl diddorol yma

Mae'n ddiddorol (ac yn ddychrynllyd weithiau) dychmygu beth y byddai hyn oll yn ei olygu i Gymru'n benodol. Gallai rhai pethau cadarnhaol ddeillio'n ddi amau - adfywiad y diwydiant glo, defnydd helaethach o gryfderau Cymru parthed ynni amgen - ynni wedi ei seilio ar wynt, dwr a'r llanw.

Ond byddai patrwm lled barhaol o gostau ynni yn codi yn barhaus - yn arbennig felly petrol yn cael effaith sylweddol ar wead llawer o gymunedau gwledig. Ychydig o drafnidiaeth gyhoeddus sydd ar gael mewn llawer o lefydd bellach - byddai llai petae pris tanwydd yn sylweddol ddrytach. Byddai trafnidiaeth breifat yn llawer iawn llai fforddadwy. Byddai'r newidiadau sydd wedi digwydd yn natur y Gymru Gymraeg tros y deg mlynedd ar hugain diwethaf yn cryfhau. Os ydi'r iaith Gymraeg yn cyflym droi'n iaith drefol ar hyn o bryd, byddai'r tueddiad hwnnw'n sicr o gyflymu.

Os ydi'r Rolling Stone yn gywir - hon fydd un o'n problemau lleiaf!

Gwylio'r gem fawr yn Nulyn.

Mi es i gyda rhai o fy nghyd chwaraewyr yng Nghlwb Sboncen Caernarfon i weld gem Cymru - Iwerddon ddydd Sadwrn yn Nulyn (er bod y gem yng Nghaerdydd wrth gwrs). 'Doeddwn i heb wneud hyn ers rhai blynyddoedd, ac fe'm rhyfeddwyd gan y nifer o Gymru oedd wedi cael yr un syniad. Roedd o'n brofiad gwirioneddol ryfedd bod yn McDaids (tafarn rwyf wedi ei mynychu ers blynyddoedd) am hanner dydd fore Sadwrn a sylwi bod pob un o'r cwsmeriaid oedd yno yn siarad Cymraeg. Roedd o'n beth rhyfedd edrych ar y gem efo canoedd o bobl eraill yn Sinotts - a'r gefnogaeth wedi ei hollti i lawr y canol rhwng Gwyddelod a Chymru. Roedd o'n braf bod cymaint o Wyddelod wedi dod atom i'n llongyfarch a dweud mai'r tim gorau oedd wedi ennill.

Mae'n gwestiwn diddorol pam bod cymaint ohonom yn mynd. Dwi'n gwybod bod Dulyn yn nes i ni yn y Gogledd na Chaerdydd - ond roedd llawer o bobl o'r De yno hefyd. Ydi o am ein bod yn gweld rhywbeth yr hoffem ei weld yn ein gwlad ein hunain yno - gwlad rydd, hyderus gyda thrigolion sy'n gwybod sut i fwynhau eu hunain.

Enw'r creadur yn y llun ydi John Lloyd Williams, ac mae'n byw yng Ngaernarfon. Fel y gwelwch mae ganddo grys Cymru del. Neu yn hytrach roedd ganddo un. Yn anffodus, yn fuan wedi i'r llun hwn gael ei gymryd, bu'n ddigon gwirion i'w ffeirio am grys t rhad Leinster. Yn waeth na dim, rhodd gan ei wraig, Delyth, iddo oedd y crys. Roedd y creadur ofn mynd adref. Beth bynnag, i godi ei galon, 'dwi wedi postio'r llun olaf i'w gymryd ohono yn ei grys.

Cewri'r Ugeinfed Ganrif 1. Winston Churchill.

Y Byd yn ol Winston - yn ei eiriau ei hun.

Ar ol gollwng nwy gwenwinig ar sifiliaid Iracaidd ym 1919:
I do not understand the squeamishness about the use of gas. I am strongly in favour of using poisonous gas against uncivilised tribes.

Barn ynglyn a Gandhi:

It is alarming and nauseating to see Mr Gandhi, a seditious Middle Temple lawyer, now posing as a fakir of a type well known in the east, striding half naked up the steps of the viceregal palace, while he is still organising and conducting a campaign of civil disobedience, to parlay on equal terms with the representative of the Emperor-King.

Ac India'n gyffredinol:

a godless land of snobs and bores.

Hawliau pobl frodorol:

I do not admit... that a great wrong has been done to the Red Indians of America, or the black people of Australia... by the fact that a stronger race, a higher grade race... has come in and taken its place.

Comiwnyddiaeth:

We must rally against a poisoned Russia, an infected Russia of armed hordes not only smiting with bayonet and cannon, but accompanied and preceded by swarms of typhus-bearing vermin.

Gwrthryfelwyr Gwyddelig:

The choice was clearly open: crush them with vain and unstinted force, or try to give them what they want. These were the only alternatives and most people were unprepared for either. Here indeed was the Irish spectre - horrid and inexorcisable.

Cymryd gofal o bobl sydd ag afiechyd meddwl:
The unnatural and increasingly rapid growth of the feeble-minded and insane classes, coupled as it is with a steady restriction among all the thrifty, energetic and superior stocks, constitutes a national and race danger which it is impossible to exaggerate... I feel that the source from which the stream of madness is fed should be cut off and sealed up before another year has passed.

Barn am Hitler:

One may dislike Hitler's system and yet admire his patriotic achievement. If our country were defeated, I hope we should find a champion as admirable to restore our courage and lead us back to our place among the nations.

Wrth lywodraeth wedi ei halltudio Gwlad Pwyl:

You are callous people who want to wreck Europe - you do not care about the future of Europe, you have only your own miserable interests in mind.

Iddewon:

This movement among the Jews is not new. From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, and down to Trotsky (Russia), Bela Kun (Hungary), Rosa Luxembourg (Germany), and Emma Goldman (United States)... this worldwide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilisation and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the 19th century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.

Trafod ffawd gwledydd pobl eraill efo Stalin:

So far as Britain and Russia were concerned, how would it do for you to have 90% of Romania, for us to have 90% of the say in Greece, and go 50/50 about Yugoslavia?

O, ac Islam wrth gwrs:

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Tybed ynglyn a beth yn union oedd o a Hitler yn anghytuno ynglyn a nhw?
